About Judge Scott Robinson
Judge Scott Robinson was appointed to the 17th Judicial Circuit, Second Subcircuit, in November of 2024. The appointment was made by Justice Lisa Holder White and the Illinois Supreme Court. Judge Robinson was chosen to fill the vacancy that occurred when Judge Eugene Doherty was appointed to the Appellate Court of Illinois.
Judge Robinson is seeking the Republican Nomination for this position, and his campaign is in the process of circulating petitions. Once Judge Robinson secures the nomination at the March 17, 2026, Primary Election, he will go on to the November 3, 2026, General Election.
Judge Robinson is an example and an inspiration to people who have had adversity in their lives. His early life challenges included being raised by a single mother and without a father, who abandoned the family. He lost his mother as a teenager and ended up dropping out of high school. At the age of 17, Scott was once again abandoned, this time by his legal guardian. After working odd jobs, he found a mentor who helped him get his high school diploma and attend college at Northern Illinois University, where he graduated with honors.
While at NIU, Judge Robinson acquired an interest in the law and decided to pursue a degree at the University of Illinois College of Law. He once again graduated with honors and began his legal career working in small firms.
During his early years in the legal profession, Judge Robinson thought about how important his mentor was to his life and career. Those thoughts and appreciation of mentorship led him to change course and become a schoolteacher at Hononegah High School in Rockton, Illinois, where he taught for nine years.
Judge Robinson has served as an assistant State’s Attorney in Ogle County and then Winnebago County. Judge Robinson resides in Rockton with his wife, Rebecca, and their three children.
